im sorry but u need to never talk on age gaps ever again if you genuinely asked what if the younger one is doing the grooming because it shows you have absolutely no clue wtf grooming is or why it is so harmful. wooing is NOT the same as grooming. but additionally, it shouldn't matter if the younger one is pursuing a relationship with someone much older, it still falls to the older one to acknowledge that when someone is extremely young and still has a developing brain (brains are still developing into the mid 20s!) that as the older one THEY need to take responsibility and not form a relationship with the younger one. im well aware this is a problem that isnt yet as widely recognized globally, but it IS a problem, and i hope one day you and many others can come to realize that these large age gap relationships are rarely ever actually okay. remember, there is a HUGE difference between a relationship between people 30 and 50.... and 20 and 40. also important to acknowledge that not every huge age gap relationship involves grooming, but many do, and the one in the story does as well, and it is in fact romantized which is not okay. i cant fault you and others for not fully realizing how this is problematic and harmful IRL and how fiction can (and does) contribute further harm, i can only hope people do research and that one day it becomes more well known how harmful things like "age is just a number" is to say about romantic relationships (even when they dont involve minors) and that these huge age gap relationships mostly go away so that less people become victims to them.
No, I do know about grooming. I'd seen it happen in a same age relationship. And it happened to a young adult ik in university(he realises he's being groomed but the time he realises it, he's too deep into it already, my poor dude hope he's okay now) It's a manipulative behaviour. Not all older people is manipulative yk. It all depends on a person. Even a young adult knows how to be manipulative, sending threats, playing victim, being nice on purpose and yada yada every grooming traits(the mf who groom my friend is the same age as him).

For me age gap is normal bcuz my parents has a huge age gap too like 41 years my father birth date is 1949 and my mother birth date is 1971 so it's normal nothing wrong about it..it's happy family cuz there's a trust and love each other if there's a problem my parents always solve if it's big or small hehehe happy happy
