sooo basically nothing is being “explained” through the cassette. they know that his memories are changing, but sometimes he still acts like an npc. basically, he’s starting to gain memories from previous play throughs, but not fully. which is why he still inserted the cassette despite it not working in previous play throughs: thus the “explains his unstable memory.” they’re not sure why he remembers some things as well, but my guess is that eventually all the characters will gain a conscious and they’ll think together to defeat the killer.

I think all of them will gain consciousness too, and about them suddenly being aware on by one, there must be certain things that triggered it? Like how Bada mentioned in most of the timelines the blue haired guy and the one with mole went to waterfall together but eventually died where the blue haired died first protecting his crush, but in previous timeline when they first discovered the abandoned house, the guy with mole died first leaving behind the grieving blue haired guy, could the mental stress he went through due to all that be the reason behind his sudden awakening?? Or am I reading too much into it

I think what the cassete explained it because they have a way of saving the game, with a cassete (I think?), and the cassete player would change places arround the house, and now it was in the car, so when he inserted the cassete, he was saving the game and so was participating which would explain why his memories were returning. At least this was my reasoning xD
But your reasoning sounds way more probable to be true, I also think that but by bit they will all regain consciousness

For a moment I thought so too but I don't think the car was a place where you could save the game since it was only limited to those two houses, and shouldn't the car have a in built casseset player? So chances of it being a saving spot is even lower since the casseset player where you could the save the game was different and even if we think it might be another saving spot, that's not possible since that guy literally inserted the casseset there in every timeline so why didn't anything happen before? Moreover you could only save the game once the killer appeared so he wouldn't be able to do that in the prologue.

But the cassete player that saves de game changes places every time so it would be completely normal that the other times it didn't happen and that it only happened now, I don't really remember if they could only save the game once the game starts tho, but jist the fact that he interacted with the cassete player could explain why he remembers the last "game session"
Okay as much as I love him being half naked and trotting down the stairs like a penguin, why isn't anyone talking about the connection between his memories and the casseset? Bada said the casseset being there explains the situation but how does it explain it? I'm kinda lost? Is it because the casseset was still there in place of being ejected like previous timelines? But it still doesn't explain why he remembers the last playthrough tho #-.-)
