I don't care about age gaps so long as both are above 20. Major brain development stops at 20 though the brain keeps developing until 25. The difference between a 16 and 17 year old is much larger than that of a 22 and 23 year old. A 17 year old is very immature and vulnerable compared to a 24 year old (though you can be very mature for 17 and very immature for 24). Basically it is very easy for a 24 year old to even accidently manipulate or lead a 17 year old. I like my partners to be years older than me but I know that I should stick within 1 to 2 years until I am older and more capable of handling that.

The plot still wouldnt be understandable because his character is a minor, the only way to completely remove any sort of sexual violence would be to make him an adult.
