In my opinion, I think Itome and Akemi are okay, though I do see where your concern is as, it is kind of showing that Akemi might have some feelings towards Itome's brother (I forgot his name sorry ;-;) as he was shocked about the news of his wife being pregnant and still carrying around a picture of he and Akemi. Though in some instances it shows that Itome truly loves Akemi and that love is reciprocated, though I would not mind seeing how strong their love is, if an obstacle were in their way. Also someone did try to 'stir up the pot.' During the camping chapters a boy after having a session with Itome tried convincing him that Akemi does not love him and that he should be we someone like himself, but Itome became slightly aggressive when hearing that allegation. Seeing that, it would be interesting to see if Itome is not just a quiet and calm person all the time and it would be interesting to see how Akemi would act when hearing someone questioning his relationship; like would he just talk his way out of it or or do something to that person. Sorry for typing a lot, just enjoy talking about this manga
