I’m 18 tho and even last year I had the emotional maturity not to treat someone harshly and make em feel bad for my own worries/ insecurities,
Plus this happens all the time even in josei, gl, bl and other mature stories so it’s not an age thing - it’s just an annoying situation/trope imo. (〜￣△￣)〜

It’s definitely an age thing. I’m happy for you that you have an emotional maturity but most people this age don’t. Even if it’s a used for a trope here, it’s very fitting. They high school students and in first time relationship for both of them. Expressing you emotions and communicating is not something that you born with it’s something that you learn how to do by learning from life situations. Also I think it’s important to point that the FL start to over think on her on and she also could have told him that he made her feel bad or that she feel that now the good mood is gone, communication is a teo sided thing. And Maybe he didn’t even notice that she didn’t move on from that? he definitely didn’t means to make her feel bad. He himself felt bad that he reacted like that and you can tell that his mad at himself and not her.

i get what you’re saying but im sure he just said that in the heat of the moment and he also has his own frustrations to let out. also he didnt just dip. you can tell she was uncomfortable and she literally said he didn’t have to walk her home and he respected her by leaving

For the other stuff, whether it’s an age thing or not, it just bugs me when MCs are implied to be at fault bc they’re not ‘on guard enough’ since it’s not their fault if they receive outside attention or the ppl in this case the guys coming up to her yk?

All in all my Ick of the ‘passionate’ or ‘heat of the moment’ jealousy outburst stays the same since it just gives possession more often than not imo. Like I just wish the other side of the coin i.e. actually feeling gassed that you’re that person’s partner out of all the people that are attracted to them and taking pride in that, leading you to treating them better, was shown more often. Maybe its just bc that’s the way I operate in my own relationships and would like to be treated in turn; but that level of character development is rarely shown in maturer stuff let alone in high school shoujo as Saga said, so even if I still find the situation dumb and jarring I’ll admit I was reaching a lil bit
