I think it’s a translation problem. From what I figure she thought they were two different people and genuinely felt bad for mister no name. Then common sense kicked in and she realized that attractive people are typically named characters and when he eventually won the battles either assumed he’d taken the place of the original character by being a hidden boss or has been the original character all along. Honestly the narrative could be either since the dialogue isn’t clear.

i honestly cant follow her thoughts at all. guy tortures her so she wants to save him? she wants to avoid evil husband but still wants to go to the ball where she meet him? her brother figures out she is an imposter and she just ignores that and doesn't even think about it???
