You’re absolutely right. They use her past to excuse her behavior but do you know in her previous life she slept with a complete stranger while engaged and three months before she was set to marry? By these readers standards, that means she cheated too. So while calling Carcel are cheater who shouldn’t be forgiven, they turn a blind eye to this fact.
In the end, readers opinions don’t matter. It’s what Ines thinks that matters. So, will she realize her actions are wrong. Wait and see if she comes to her senses.
Dont get me wrong I want them together but It's critical to remember that she was hurt painfully from a man who cheated on her on her first life, diseases and abuse and all. Of course she will be cautious of his cousin, who is also known for his similar promiscuous behaviour. Not to mention, he only really stopped sleeping around when he figured out she knew. He is a grown man. Ines wanted him to be promiscuous for her plan but she didn't force him into the bed of every woman. Ines is a woman in this society where they are as usual, subjugated. And yes she is causing him unwarranted pain but her only other options are beyond slim, it's made very clear. Readers are much more sympathic to her because she isn't stupid, easily falling for the ML because he says he's gonna be faithful. Is it unfair to Carcel who wants to change? Yes, but he made that bed and he has to lie in it until she can trust him. Cause she isn't stupid.
You’re making excuses for her. Ines has “always” pointed out that Carcel is different to Oscar. She has never once, at all, seen any similarity between them and would even consider it an insult to compare them. Manhwa skipped some of this but Ines will most likely address it again in the future. Plain and simple, Ines chose Carcel because he is considered the best looking man in Ortega and she believed the false rumors from the time when she was crown princess that Carcel is a womanizer. She chose him to use him and dump him. All this thought you’re putting in to her not trusting him is useless. Her intention was always to use him and dump him no matter what. You're ignoring that she has like no choices in this. I'm not making excuses for her I'm explaining her situation. She tried running away and look what happened. And the false rumours were quite true, no? I made it clear her actions were cruel but she's forced into a corner out of being a woman in the time period. Getting divorced without a child making her have almost no influence. And even if she doesn't compare him to Oscar ishe did as you say "believe(d) the false rumours the from the time she was the Crown princess that Carcel is a womanizer" that is in a way a comparison to her ex husband even if she doesn't want to admit it. Her experience with her abuser is affecting her current choices. People are being unnecessarily cruel to Ines who has done nothing but suffer. And yes, she is being cruel to Carcel, planning to use him and dump him as you put it. But that's just a plot point as she realises she hurts him just as she was. she is going to eventually realise it.
And it's not useless to analyse a piece of media that includes these themes. Her 'trust' in him is the reason why she wants to use him for her plan. And gaining a true sense of trust is what will allow her to realise what she's putting carcel through in all this.

Readers always say Ines had no choice. Ines had a choice is every single life. She chose all of her husbands. Her family didn’t choose them. She just has a knack of choosing the wrong men. She says this in the manhwa when the maid was combing her hair. Readers always choose to see Ines as a victim of the time when she has more power than even other noblewomen. She’s the greatest noblewoman in her time because she’s the only girl among the top five families.
Those false rumors aren’t even true. The next few chapters should clear that up. Ines has the gall to berate the two guys at the navy banquet who were badmouthing Carcel and wanted to get them in trouble when she’s no different to them when she based everything she thinks she knows on rumors about Carcel. How is she any different from them? She’s not. It’s yet again proof of why she keeps messing up her life.
A womanizer is different to an adulterer. Dante is a womanizer and he is starkly different to Oscar. Even Ines knows this. The emperor and empress both have lovers and even they are different to their son. The emperor has never gone to a brothel or slept with prostitutes. He’s different to his own son. Same with the empress. She was actually shocked to find out how debauched her son was. So if the crown prince own parents were shocked by his behavior, why would Ines even think that Carcel, Dante, the emperor, the empress and all the other promiscuous men and women in society are like Oscar? Oscar is a different level on his own and even later scandal will prove it. No. Ines, plain and simple, has no problem with Carcel and only wanted to use him and dump him.

Ines is wrong. The novel proves it. After this arc, it’s Ines acknowledging how much she has treated Carcel’s life carelessly. She has a lot of regret about the way she treated him. Ines is the one that gets character development to be a better person.
As far as her marriage, whatever Ines wants, her father would get it for her. That’s the kind of man he is. She always chose her husbands. Even with Carcel, she chose him twice. He didn’t choose her. Carcel never treated her as a good or nothing. Ines never said he treated her like that. When Ines gets honest with herself, she always acknowledged Carcel as a good person. Even before this arc. Manhwa just doesn’t show every detail that novel has.
Ines did things the wrong way from the beginning in the previous timeline. What, she thinks running away from a problem solves it? It doesn’t. And she didn’t run away with her lover. She ran away with a complete stranger whom she only knew for 10 days. Also, if she did nothing wrong, why would she later regret how much trouble she had put her family in. Ines feels terrible about the way she treated her brother who in every lifetime has always treated her well. It’s she who put them in trouble first. Anybody who doesn’t get that point is ignorant of the time period. It’s not only the imperial family that was involved. All the nobility wanted the sinner brought back and punished with her family. Even the commoners sunk Ines name in mud and spread all kinds of rumors about her sexual history. Readers here thinks of things so simply but nothing about the previous timeline was simple. Even the fact that Ines decided to choose a stranger whose face she liked to see, seduced him then ran way with him. It’s over time that she came to love him just like the author said in her questions and answers to fans.
Too bad i aint reading the novel but ig the comic is a lil separate from the novel. And the reason she did things wrong was because her mental illness, she suffered coz of it when carcel thought she was doing it on purpose. She fell in love with that man, even if it was 10 days, he treated her right. She knew if she doesn't act fast she will suffer the same faith as she did in her last life, you are forgetting that she was reborn a lil before to her wedding date. Maybe Ines is living her nth life. And she did suffer from the previous lives too, but I don’t think manipulating Carcel into divorce so she can be free is fair while justifying that he was originally a womanizer and he can just go back to his old ways. For every life she lived, she tried to live her best life but sadly, she lost to them everytime but where’s Carcel in the picture? I know she still intends to make sure Carcel lives happily after the divorce but most of the time, it’s the aftermath that counts, not the thought. Like, the dead ends their suffering and the living must carry their pain.
If she’s trying to change her fate, then why is he getting hate trying to change his womanizing ways? Also, why should Carcel suffer the consequences? And why do we have to bring up his womanizing days to justify that. It’s like she’s the only one that’s allowed to adjust to her new life while manipulating the other party to stay in the old one. She doesn’t have to fall in love with him if she’s not ready or still traumatized or doesn’t feel like it but they are married and he’s doing his best to make the marriage work.
