So I noticed "en" is used in the dialogue a lot. Can anyone tell me what it means? I tried googling but can't find anything.

It's like a grunt in agreement.

"En" is the pinyin for the Chinese character that signifies that sound similar to how English speakers say "mhmm" in an agreeing sort of way. Usually the word would be translated into something like "yup" in English, but the translator probably wanted to maintain the "Chinese" atmosphere and kept "en." Chinese 101!
