THIS!!! I mentioned this a couple of chapters ago, I'm so frustrated with the author because they didn't have to give us all this detail– all it did was actively show us the differences between them!
What's worse is that it hurts now because it means that Sol's love for Ian is just a projection of his love for Brian, and it really dampers the main story.
I honestly prefer the backstory at this point, and am not sure how I feel about going back to the main plot...
Yes im agree with you :( like what make you suddenly obsessed with ian? You just met him. Just because ian have same power like brian? Idk their personality might quite same (the hot temper(?)) but ian more to sensitive and fragile type since he was abused since he was kid. He is really different with brian that have strong minded.

Your second paragraph i am so agree and that is what ian felt at the end of season 1. He already said he is ian and not brian so if he cant regain the memories what will happen to him? He feels so stress and depressed until he wants to be brian. Besides, all the love language sol gave to him, he already doubt it and felt sol did that for brian not for him. And stupid the emperor for calling him brian. That is so sad and frustrating from my opinion :(

I literally almost forgot that Ian had already acknowledged that Sol's love for him was fake (we've spent too long in backstory, i guess). I don't want the author to shift Sol's character to love Ian when he already has/had Brian. It tears me up on the inside, ughhhhh
Yeah im agree. Nvm we just wait how sol overcome this prob. I hope he realised he already hurt ian so much. Ian looks miserable at the end season 1. Poor my boy :(
After read until chapter 74, i still stand ian is not brian. They are two different people. Dont get me wrong, i love both of them. Eventho soon(?) ian will regain back his old memories, he is still not brian but ian that have brian’s memories. I feel overwhelmed after read all the backflash arc, do sol really love ian or he just want to find brian in ian? If it is, i am feeling sad for ian, he already exiled from his own country and now other people from new country being nice to him bcs he is dragon knight in past. So who is the one that really love the real ian?
