I never liked Omegaverse because if I'm reading BL Yaoi, it's to find stories about Boy x Boy romance, their societal struggles, how they overcome these obstacles to pursue their love and stay together... (Though I end up reading this sub-genre of BL because there are just too many, and more and more （◞‸◟)
Over all, this is the fantasy and somehow uniqueness brought by BL that I'm drawn into these "gay" fictions.
And so when you make homosexuality legal (especially in homophobic countries like East Asia) throught ABO, you just dismiss the whole point that makes BL Yaoi interesting and original in the first place. Why are they making the bottom capable of giving birth?? I understand the fantasy behind it, but again this completely wipe out the interest in reading BL, where both male protagonists despite all struggles and the impossibility for them to have kids, like each other anyway.
Reading ABO, aside seeing how the author played and used the codes and strings posed by Omegaverse universe, is no different from reading any Josei romance where the heroine end up pregnant and leave the ML etc.

BL Yaoi is interesting to us women because it's supposed to show homosexual, gay romances. If we want straight hetero romances with pregnancy and kids we would read Shojo, Josei instead. This has nothing to do with trans people or other matters like that.
What's happening to the BL genre is rather saddening and maddening. If I could, I would like for these BL authors to stop killing the BL genre and just keep on producing REAL Boys Love.
Plus, most of the time, the Omegaverse element adds nothing to the actual story which can be perfectly fine being just the usual Yaoi ┑(￣Д ￣)┍

Considering the high heteronormative element in almost all of these BL stories; the often over-feminine and weaker-than a girl-Uke (and when he's muscular, he's also acting like a girl!), why worsen his status by making him an Omega furthermore? About Omegaverse, what you told is true also, but what I said stands as well.

The point of omegaverse is to "make a man be the woman." It's not about a feminine man embracing his femininity. It's about a woman resigning herself to her doom (alphas)

My advice would be to READ THE SUMMARY FIRST before proceeding on a story. There is also tags that could help to see if it is something that you hate.
