it is still, super weird. a lot of people hated cmbyn for the same reason. which is even worse than super lovers btw. while super lovers at least tries to portray the relationship as a problem and attempts to show how ren is "mature for his age so its ok" (which ofc does not make it ok) cmbyn straight up romanticises grooming.
My point is 17 is closer to adulthood and Ren just looks ten because he is short and Haru is like 6.1 foot tall which makes him look older it's not grooming when it comes to super lovers one thing I disliked about the anime version is that they never explained that Haru had the habit since a kid to kiss and the the twins aka his brothers Explain the whole story in the manga version. just like he did to Ren when he was 8 years old in the manga it was explained that it was something normal for their brother to do he has always been affectionate weirdo lol People don't understand that and think when they watch that he is grooming 8 year old Ren not understanding he has done that to the twins as well. Which is why his cousin hated him because as people read the manga they will understand haru's cousin had feelings for him but found himself Who are you renting him because to him Haru doesn't love. he is just used to skin ship. haha no worries i understand where uiurw coming from, i didnt specifically mean that part, i know they explained that part and i honestly think up until he was like 14-15 he didnt feel anything weird towards ren HOWEVER the offputting part comes where hes giving him hickeys, gives him a blow job and a hand job, at 14. I understand 17 is kinda old enough for that but you have to admit being 22 and passionately kissing a 14 year old is weird.

In Japan he didn't touch him until 15 and he didn't get more romantic with him until age 16 and I wish I could translate it but I can't redo everything people will be mad saying it's the same chapter plus a few booklets are missing which would explain a bit more
