Thank you for the point!
I be here in the comment section reading people starting to dislike Ines and the angst of this whole comic.
Ines lived 3 lives, currently living the 3rd one. In all those lifetimes, she suffered from men because of her feelings. She was affected physically, mentally and emotionally. So, I don't really understand why people think that she doesn't have to hurt Carcel. Why she has to trick or fool him but I just want to input that, Ines doesn't really know to what extent Carcel's emotion for her and she doesn't want to risk it. That's why she put herself first and calculated a plan where she think she will be happy. I mean, thinking back, her two lifetimes ended with her having to kill herself. For me, that's the greatest form of suffering cause you'd rather die than live. Additionally, Carcel's actions in the past doesn't really warrant her trust that he would never betray her. At this point, she's already so broken.
Was it? When there's smoke, there's fire. I mean, Carcel's a great guy, don't get me wrong. He has integrity and professionalism however I think he keeps his personal life a bit of a mess. I remember, I read in a chapter, don't remember which one but he mentioned that he was so frustrated with Ines that he ended up in bed with another girl. Didn't he continued to do that??
And I really don't understand how people blame Ines for Carcel's cheating. As if she forced him cheat on her and become a womanizer. Like bruh from the beginning she chose him bcs he was from a powerful family that the Empress cannot just have a war with because of something like rejection of her son. And she didn't even like Ines. Second, she was indifferent to Carcel considering he was a child in her eyes and she had a mental age of over 30. But your fiance whom you don't even like being indifferent towards you doesn't give you the licence to cheat. And let's not forget Carcel started cheating on her because he was frustrated that she wasn't fawning over him like all the other women. And as far as we know Ines was bedridden all that time. The fact that Carcel's reputation as a rake will help Ines in the future is the only reason she's fine with all that. Because we all know that in her first (second) life when she married the crown prince he gave her STD which caused her several miscarriages. So I doubt Carcel hasn't caught something already considering his past. So, let's not blame Ines for EVERYTHING.
why cant people read a story without projecting their fucking feeling on it.
i will explain it in a more simple way, and if you need go reread the story.
-in her "third" life ines choose carxel because of the rumors that she had heard, (usually runors are falls).
-Her plan from the start was to marry him cause he was queens nephew so she would still (the queen) use her family's name.
-carsel all these hears tried to approach ines, ines didnt care about him , she even told him to have other relationships , their relationship was more of an open relatioship to her carsel had no idea for her plan or that she was sick.
-yea sure she slept with some women but she didnt sleep around like the rumors make him to be.
next time try to understand the story without projecting as ines or whatever you did while reading it.
Ines was not bedridden the whole time. Go reread. She was only bedridden in 16-20. She been brainwashing him since always. Go reread, she even said it was her plan for 17 years to make sure he cheats. She was mad when he said he'll be loyal. Ines knows Carcel didn't catch anything and that's why she chose him. It's obvious it's Ines fault that he cheated bc if you look at all the past life he didn't do shit when she didn't do anything to him. It's only this lifetime that he's doing all this bc of her.
Maybe it's you who should reread bcs as far as I remember they were supposed to be married at 17 but Carcel went into Navy. And started cheating on her even before that. I agree with you that Iness was 'annoyed' when Carcel said he'll be loyal after marriage which would not help her plans for future. But I DO KNOW THIS VERY WELL you cannot FORCE someone to cheat on you. She never even spoke more than a few words with him how does that make him cheat on her? Let's be real Carcel can be very oblivious but he's not an idiot. It was Ines's plan to make her look undesirable, a black sheep whom ofc a man like Carcel wouldn't find desirable and will divorce her on his own. REREAD IT. In her plan Carcel is supposed to divorce her for her gloomy personality. But when Carcel suddenly changed towards Ines after literally cheating on her for YEARS that Ines had to change HER plan to make a child with Carcel and divorce him for his infidelity. I'm not saying she's blame free but Carcel isn't a saint either. If anything he knew what he was doing all those year cheating in his finance yet he still continued it. I'm sure that part was very clear in his monologue. And most importantly Ines did not have feelings Carcel which is why his infidelity did not affect her rather she used it to her advantage. Girl just wants to live a good life and even wants to leave Carcel to live a life of his choice. She isn't harming him in anyway. It is us who are judges of their actions.
Honey why do poeple even read if not to feel for the characters? The fuck is wrong with you? Do you hear yourself? I NEVER said Ines cared about his infidelity. We DO. Carcel cheated and Ines did not react which made Carcel even more frustrated bcs in his delulu kind he though that Ines loved him all along.
And rumours? She literally caught him all tangled with a random woman in the hallway. Lol now that's one true rumour.
And I remember specifically mentioning that she married Carcel to protect herself from not being married to the Crown Prince once again. And since Carcel comes from a powerful family of equal standing it was a good match in her eyes. But the fact that you expect her to be lovey dovey with Carcel, she, a mentally grown woman in six year old childs body is kinda disturbing. It makes more sense that she would ignore him since he was a CHILD in her eyes. Even in their teenage years she did not need to pay attention to him since she did not like him and I believe she made that thing very clear that she did not like him romantically. What the problem is that Carcel's infidelity was never her fault but it sure did become one of her weapons and she's right to take advantage of it to protect herself.
lol when did i say i wan expecting her to be lovey dovey?
from the rumours in her past life that she heard.also he himself said that rumours went around that he slept around but he didnt care much about it.
also when you read a story to try to understand both side i have seen people write about stuff that are not even in the manga .
Once again I'm saying this Ines does not care about his infidelity. We do. Also you should really think of what you're saying. They were publicly ENGAGED. Carcel's infidelity also puts Ines in a awkward position. She does not acknowledge doesn't mean it does not exist. Cheating is cheating eveb if you get no action from your spouse. Carcel could've broken the engagement off but did he? Ines wouldn't't and we all know why
But from Carcel's POV he knew what he was doing was WRONG. He was AWARE of his actions when forst slept with a woman out of 'frustration', when he left for Navy knowing very well he was supposed get married that year, when he came back and demanded to be married after 6 years of no show. HE WAS AWARE. So, what I'm saying is, not only from our POV but also from Carcel's POV he KNOWS he fucked up.
Simply, we're seeing Carcel's POV so some of us thought that Carcel is the only victim here. Remove that POV, we got his reputation of him being a womanizer and openly badmouthing his fiance. Whether he likes her before or not, he earned that reputation of being surrounded by women. With this, why would Ines interpret every Carcel's actions as a form of affection when she knows what he's been doing even before marriage.
The girl is trying to survive and she chose this man because he's the best option.
We all see it that she's giving it a thought how they will both mutually benefit in the situation. For her, she's not hurting him but giving him the enjoyment he would normally have and with this she will also benefit...

Ines, got the three lifetimes worth of suffering in the current timeline. So, I'm not surprised that she prioritizes her survival over her blooming feelings for the man.
Unfortunately for Carcel though, it's in this timeline that he had to be clueless of all their past lives resulting him to do some stupid things because of his feelings for Ines.
