I actually can understand why. It was Trevor’s way of showing Gene how much he loved him, so much so that he supported him even if they were apart for so long. I think Trevor just wanted Gene to experience life and other people, and not be bound to a single person (even though he did just that). In the end he just wanted Gene to be happy no matter how much that hurt him. That’s how much Trevor loved Gene, that’s what (imo) true love is ˚‧º·(˚ ˃⌓˂ )‧º·˚
The story is really well written until the ending. Why they have to be lost contact?! It doesn't event makes sense or realistic at all. The realistic scenario that I can think of, when they both love each other so much, they still can support each other from far away. But this? Whyy?
