That's what i said.divorce has been her plan from the start.but what made her even more pumped up in getting the divorce after getting married is his promiscuity before marriage.all this plan of her came to motion because she was sure he would fall for women's charms and then they both would be free.him with his previous life & her with a peaceful death
About their wedding yes the duke did nothing to stop it because ines wanted it(think about why ines wanted it in the first place).but carcel knew he knew that he had the chance to call off the wedding if he delayed it a little longer.but no boy went impotent and had to proceed with the wedding.

He went with the wedding bc Ines guilt trip him into it bc now she wants the wedding. It wasn't something he just decided without someone else or something else making him do it. You should think about it. Carcel nvr could call off the wedding bc he's just following the parents and the empress. His parents didn't turn it down. The empress wants it. Her parents continued it bc her father just follow what she wants. So you think about it. Who got the rl say here? His parents didn't do anything. The empress is doing what Ines wants. Her parents is doing what Ines wants. Carcel is stuck listening to the parents and the empress.
I don't think you even understand. If he didn't cheat before marriage, she would've ended the engagement using her father and find someone else who does bc that's what she wants. Him cheating before marriage isn't just pumping her up for divorce bc she alrdy planned it for 17yrs. She doesn't need him to be cheating on her before marriage to be pumped. If he didn't follow her plan during that 17yrs, she wouldn't even have stayed engaged to him.
Ines is the type to plan something like this but she isn't the type to unjustly frame Carcel. Her goal is to leave not hurt him. She's setting up opportunities for him to cheat more easily (tempting him), but she's not planning to hurt him (beyond rejecting his love) or ruin his character. This is why she plans so much for both of their futures (and was even putting extra thought into who would be a proper affair partner for him). Also with her PTSD/trust issues and his history of affairs and behaviour, it's not a surprise that she doesn't fully trust him or herself and is slow to fall in love.
So I think we can relax. Knowing Carcel he will probably end up crying or the crazy lady will somehow insult him and Ines will comfort him or defend him.
