Unredeemable

There is no redemption arc for JJ. Sorry if you like him, but there isn’t. He’s a rapist, a narcissist bastard, egocentric and violent in everything he does. There is not one reason to like him. “But he’s hot” - I can’t even think he’s hot with all the shit he does, I really couldn’t care less about his body.
And doc Dan is made to be the complete opposite - the angel uke, that only does good things for everyone, has some kind of debt and gets assaulted in every way and even thinks he deserves or is guilty of that treatment.
I absolutely hate this type of plot. And the thing is, there’s no “warning” about this.
And I bet the author is gonna make JJ see how perfect Dan is and everything he did for him and much of an asshole he is in like 3 to 5 chapters. And then… they’ll be so happy together. JJ will be the perfect boyfriend after losing Dan.
This shouldn’t even be considered BL. Love? Where? This is more psychological with a gay relationship with the amount of trauma and assault going on …

Straight facts bro. I was about to say all this too. He dosent deserve a redemption arc AND no type of redemption arc can fix him. Seeing the "romance" tag understand this is disgusting to say the least. A romance between a victim and their abuser is no romance at all no matter how hot they are. I would have been fine if this had a psychological tag instead.
I literally cant find him hot either-

Right? I feel like BJ Alex got a pass, because it wasn’t as bad as this (but the abuse and all was there too, and VERY visible), but this time… this author is delusional if they think this passes as BL and that they’ll get away with it because the characters are “hot”. The abuse is so in our faces. How can anyone take this as romantic?
And if they do… something’s wrong.
