Now you know nothing of the author at all. Gir all we know they could’ve gone through a similar situation but had no on to confide in. We know nothing. Though I can say you may be right, but saying that and not knowing the situation could hurt the person if they have had such experiences.
I thought of that possibility and I understand it but this a manga something that anyone can read or buy even teenagers or children many authors talked abt pedo in their manga but not like this
It is okay to tell a story, but to draw it in such detail is absolutely immoral in my opinion. In books too I don’t think it is okay to write such a scene. There are amazing talented people out there who can tell such tragic stories without a full on detailed SA scene. And they are much much more heartwrenching. It does not take anything away from the story whatsoever. I do not know about the author, so I will not accuse them of being a pedo, but even putting such scenes for the shock value too is so disrespectful to the actual victims out there I believe. It also gives actual pedos an opportunity to feed their vile and revolting fantasies, and the artist will earn money from this too. For the victims’ suffering to be used for such shallow and disgusting purposes, it is just harmful and insensitive.

Any work that touches such sensitive topics should have a warning (yes, I did see it), and not everything is supposed to be sunshine and sparkles, no one is denying that. Art and its adjacents have been used as emotional catharsis since the dawn of man. Just 'cause someone creates a work based on their own experience or the shared experience of others and that makes you uncomfortable doesn't mean you get to fucking dictate what they do with their lives.

Everyone has their own set of morals that differ in terms depending on many different factors. This does not align with your morals and that is fine.
I never said that this is not okay to talk about. We should absolutely normalize people speaking out. I am sorry that I was not able to convey that properly and triggered you. I am just saying that depictions in such detail like this does have its problems. But please understand that I am not talking about how this made me feel. Nothing I said above is about me. I would not hate on an artwork just because it makes me uncomfortable. Not everything is supposed cater to everyone. And I am not hating on this manga either. Not everyone needs to agree with me either. You could have just given me your perspective and I would respect that and learn from you too. I did not make any allegations either. But this is actually an ongoing topic of discussion in the art world, especially in literature. Because there are many works that fetishize SA in a similar manner. I will give an example from a very criticised trope: there are many novels where the story takes place in the middle east, and there are many depictions of women who are forced into a marriage which then escalates into a graphic SA scene. The fetishization of SA is shielded by the tragedy. It is a complicated and sensitive topic, I am aware. But, I am not the one using victims as a shield for myself. Such artists and writers are the ones doing that. I am not saying that this particular artist had the same intention in mind, but it does not change the fact that there is something problematic going on, whether it is on purpose or not. It is definitely not a black&white situation. There are many many gray areas. I hope that I was able to explain what I mean this time. You don’t have to agree with me and that is absolutely okay. It’s simple, if these sort of topics triggers you, then DO NOT READ. Each readers has the choice and is accountable to what they are reading, it’s not like the author is shoving this in our faces. If the author has no morals, it’s not for you to judge nor is your problem nor you can do anything about it. What you can control is whether to read this or not. Simple.
