Unfortunately that’s correct. My parent was mistreated, humiliated publicly and more but she continued to accept and only see these people are humanitarians because they provided a garage to live in. This type of behavior exists hardcore in real life.

him being depicted as having sympathy for jaekyung when he himself is in a difficult and terrible situation is ridiculous but at the end of the day, dan is a victim. Hes a victim of his upbringing where he was constantly made to feel small, very few people are nice to him because the only people hes had time for were terrible people trying to take things from him. He grew up with the love of his grandma but shes been sick for a while which has left him alone. He is certainly jaekyungs victim. Jaekyung is abusive and mean to him but hes also gotten dan out of some bad situations and given him a place to stay, something he was struggling to do on his own. So in his mind, he owes jaekyung something. Stockholm syndrome is a thing and add debt into the situation, how can you expect dan to beleive he deserves better when no one has ever told him he does?
