I think in their case they don’t like his personality but after seeing him defend their daughter like that I think they’ll come around, plus it’s alright to want the best for your kids while not imposing it on them. As you can see she ignores her dad and grandpa since her mum and grandma are on her side. They even didn’t like ML till they knew of rourou being his son and ML basically abandoned his fam and formed a stronger relationship with them.
But lingwei treats him bad too, I know she said she wants her career comes first but there is no reason she treat him like that idk
It’s their relationship dynamic that works for them. He’s happy when she’s happy and she’s happy seeing him love her unconditionally. There’s literally no possible compromise when it comes to her career and I stand by her on that.

I think they don’t focus on her emotions because that’s not who the character is, she’s stoic and knows what she wants. Trusting that, the fact that she gave him a chance and later on decided to marry him is a huge deal, she wasn’t influence by her parents or anything. It’s just their dynamic, she’s similar to her mum I think.
