I was also confused by the age gap at first in the side stories,
then I realized that their ages are not specified in the main story, but we do know that geum hoo is actually a fully grown man, that he was in the military then dropped out after the tragic events in his family and raised his little brother by himself
He seems to be around 12, 14 years old?
whereas Beom seemed quite young and inexperienced in life, he basically grew up alone and survived by prostituting himself.
So the age gap has always been here, the side stories just showed them earlier in their reincarnated lives than the main story, which explains why it was so obvious there.
12,14 >> geum hoo's little brother, sorry it was badly phrased xD
And yea like I said the side about their reincarnation seems to be happening earlier in their lives.
In the main story, geum hoo seems to be in his mind 30 and Beom early 20.
In the side story Beom celebrates is 18th (?) birthday and geum hoo looks about twenty something?
Where it doesn't make sense now that I think of it is that Soon and geum'little bro are adults and getting married so I don't really know what to do of the timeline xD
Ohhh that makes more sense lol i was so confused at first thought u meant geum was 12, 14 (・Д・)
I feel like the ages were changed mostly because the author might be into this minor and adult thing which is like a thing a lot of bl and yaoi authors are into for some reasons they almost always include these in their stories and it’s so frustrating and creepy at this point (ಠ_ಠ)
I will never get whats so hot about a Minor and a grown Adult being “in love” its just pedophilia that really shouldn’t be normalised like this
The story looks quite dark in the first chapters
-and actually is-
But it was very well balanced with the funny moments, heart breaking, heart warming and terrifying ones.
I'm usually annoyed when there are too much sex scenes and end up skipping them, but in this story, they were surprisingly primordial, their relationship develops through them and it was an interesting approach.
And ffs I love their relationship so much, I love their interactions, I love the side characters especially mustache servant, he was such a sweet man. Soon also, she's adorable.
Also loved Beom and Muhu's interactions, they're hilarious.
You must be mentally prepared for the side stories, which are actually the ending and holy fuck, I loved it. Killing the main couple is so rare and it made their story complete, that they would die so young and abruptly in this era was actually so coherent. Even the reincarnation thing made sense with their final wish to the wisteria tree.
I would have liked to know if the little brother was cured, and what was his illness, as well as beom brother's full story.
