In order for your analogy to work, I'd have to call all readers abusive rapist...which I haven't. Rape, unfortunately, plagues most of the Yaoi genre. The argument that I have to enjoy that to like a story is convoluted. One of my favorite reads of all time is Love is an Illusion...but I despise Dojun (the ml). There's more to Love is an Illusion than Dojun and there's more to Waterside Night than rape. I still hate both.
