are you dumb? she was literally abused in both life tf do you expect? every single of her reactions are realistic and normal for her situation. yall need to stop acting like "strong female characters" should be all mentally and phisically strong, thats not a strong character, thats just another ass stereotype that wont make a character have any depth, a strong character is a complex character that act according the situation they are in and makes sense. its not mentioned here but ruby was also a victim of a lot of racism in her previous life, stop expecting ABUSED PEOPLE should all be strong agaist their abuser, its not realistic and its not something normal to expect

I agree to a point. Personally I'm a very blunt person so I've never have dealt with abuse of any kind because I won't stand for it. I have literally beat the shit out of many little boys in high school. Not too badly I only broke one nose. My mother taught me from a young age never to deal with a man hurting you in any way. So I'm lucky that my mother taught me so. She was abused by her first husband and made sure that her daughters wouldn't be abused and made sure to marry a perfect second husband my dad. Anyway after that rant I think if I was abused through my first life I'm kind of thinking of my mom's first husband with my second life I would have definitely stood up for myself maybe not right away but after a while I would have like my mom did for a second husband she wouldn't take shit. So I really wish she would stick up for herself because if my mom can do it she can do it. But then again I've never been abused so I'm not in that situation I can only see it through my perspective IE my mother. I just hope she has a daughter she teaches her not to let people mess with her. ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶

Sometimes, when we’re in an abusive situation our brain just freeze. You can be as blunt as you want, as brave as you want, And in the FL’s case, she learned to keep silent for her whole life. I know it’s fiction, but like in our society men are almost never made accountable for their violence. We don’t wake up from an assault with a sewed mouth.
Society taught us silence. Don’t you wonder why there are so many children who suffer from abusive (sometimes sexual) situation, but no one listen to them or their mother? We tend to learn submission and silence in the most primary form of society: family.
And then we learn that if we do speak up, no one will listen.

But if we all collectively decided to listen to them, to those victims, then we’ll have to realize that’s it’s not just anecdotal, it’s systematic.

Either we want it or not our society is based on hierarchy. And we’re definitely not on its top.

There are 4 types of trauma responses actually, fight, flight, freeze and fawn. So I agree with you, it’s common to have those types of reactions in abusive situation but they manifest in different ways.

I never said it was abnormal the whole point of my comment was to say, stop telling victims how they should or shouldn’t react. It’s out of our reach most of the time. (I have years of trauma and in therapy because of men so yeah I’m the last person who would say it’s abnormal)

I hate the fact that people wanted strong FL who will be like “I dont need a man blablabla”. sure, if that’s your cup of tea, then find other manhwas. she’s strong in her own way. her trauma runs deep, it’s natural that she may not overcome it on her own. this is actually pretty realistic, you know. if you want all the happy stuff instead, find lighter manhwas to read.

I actually do agree with you in this ones a little too too toxic sometimes, but for me its because its straight up "trauma porn" most of the time (where it's just continually how bad can the author make her life with very little reprieve and its hard to guess when or even if there will be a positive turnout).

But its not that I expect the character to be acting any differently. I mean a systemic, systematic and thorough breaking down of one's psychological defenses is different than just being beat. And if it's happened since childhood in both lives, it's going to be almost impossible for her to know anything else. She's never had the chance to even learn that just being "blunt" is an option especially when thatd easily get her killed. In her second life, how is she supposed to just stand up for herself especially pre-marriage? Shes literally powerless there. And then post-marriage, how is she suppose to know? This isn't like fighting back high school bullies. These are people that are significantly more powerful and have control over everything you love including your own sense of safety. Even in the recent chapters she just found out that she's been being spied on the whole time. She doesn't have a point where she feels safe enough to fight back (except the time that she had run away for a bit, and even then she came back).

Like the only way I see this getting a positive turnaround is the cardinal being gone permanently, and Iske straight up taking down everyone who's harmed her so she feels safe long term.

Forreal agree here. Because like *especially* this character, it's *literally* never been shown to her that fighting back is really even a possibility. There's never been anyone to show her other than fiction books shes read in her first life. Literally, how would she even know what's "normal" especially in life 2.
