Nope, Kelvin told them that this kid is special and that they better succeed with their duties. Stop trying to justify them trying to kill everybody at the manor and kidnap Ciel. It doesn't matter that they didn't know what happens to the children and they are smart enough to think that it's nothing good. They are still murders and kidnappers weather you like it or not. Doll only thinks they're evil because they killed her family.

Jumbo even said that "father told us that this one's special and that if we fail he's going to be very angry with them". You're making stuff up or have forgotten about what happened. Jumbo never said that their father told them that the Phantomhives are evil and this and that.
Guys chill out. I'm not justifying them, I literally am asking if I remember it correctly cause it's been so long since the circus arc
So it seems like I mixed up stuff(sorry):
- they were aware that they were kidnapping children all over the country BUT the circus members didn't know that they were being used to make their porcelain prosthetics (they do know that they were being killed off tho)
- to them, the doctor and father were saviors and they're trying to help their cause even if they don't necessarily agree with it (joker was visibly disturbed when the kidnapped children were doing circus acts and then dying)
- this father of theirs was normal when they took them in but then he met Ciel and everything went downhill. They were practically brainwashed into thinking that Ciel is on the other side of them slash Enemy slash Bad guys. Not in that specific wording but you get what I mean.
- Members were blackmailed with the lives of other kids left at the orphanage who were already dead long ago from the experiments. Again I'm not justifying anything here they did take other children and deprived them of a future but the thing about Yana's story telling is that it compels you to feel even a slight sympathy towards them. You get where they're coming from, even if you don't necessarily agree with their acts which is ironic since it has some similarities with Joker's situation.

Yes, They are victims of Kelvin and they were clueless about what the doctor did to the children, they were manipulated into killing and kidnapping people but they are still criminals. They weren't brainwashed into thinking Ciel and the other Phantomhives were the bad guys lol you're making this up. Kelvin only told them that "Ciel" is very special to him. Kelvin will never say anything bad about the Phantomhives' lol he was their number one fanboy. Where the hell are you getting this information from?
Yes, I understand that they are trapped in this situation but they are still terrible evil people. You can sympathy for them and like they characters but don't treat them like innocent angels.
Yea, and I just told you that you're wrong. They weren't brainwashed into thinking Ciel and the Phantomhives' were evil and whatever, and they weren't brainwashed into doing anything. They killed and kidnapped people on their own volition, the word you're looking for is "manipulated".
I never said they were angels, innocent and they were not criminals. I kept repeating I never justified them, just felt sympathy.
And again, I said "not the exact wording" when they were brainwashed into thinking the Phantomhives were on the opposite side of them. Sure, Kevin worshipped them to the point of obsession, but clearly the circus members don't have the same feelings towards Ciel and co.
Sure they might think Ciel is "special" as said by Kevin but that's it. They just know he's labelled as special by their father.

I think only Joker was aware that they were doing drug trafficking, murder, and child abuse/SA? He didn't even know until the last moment that their porcelain prosthetics were made out of real human bones.
As far as Doll knows, they were just told that the Phantomhives were evil and they need to kill them. I hope Snake realizes from his own experience with the Phantomhive mansion that they are technically the good guys(?).
Question mark since they do some quite questionable things too but hey at least they save the general citizens and stuff (think bigger picture).
