What do you mean? MC has absolutely no reason to suspect that this random, handsome guy he met at a café is a hacker, let alone the hacker he admired and ran away from a year ago. Ghosting is a pretty common thing, nothing weird about ml joking about it - also mc didn't just ghost VX, he technically ghosted a lot of people who "knew him"
"it's not like you ghosted me and went off the grid"...
Well that's pretty much an admission of his identity, no? Why didn't MC find that a weird thing for ML to have said, that probably should have tripped alarm bells.
