I don't think it's a waste. I would dislike him if he throw away the chance to get the money he needed, like his love for her is not going to pay his debt. He is realistic, I would too take a money plus he talked with her beforehand
it's his lost wasting his 2nd chance like that. like there's a reason why you're gonna stay as the 2nd ML and you deserve it
