It’s his pride that stubbornly decided to pay the seme back. I think he genuinely does not want anything to do with the seme anymore but as a last resort to remain his sense of self, he let his pride get the better of him.

Thats a lie! The uke doesn't owe the seme anything. Money willingly raised as a reward or means to help a victim of crime is not legally obligated to be paid back by the victim. This is especially true since the seme should have gone to the police and let them show up at the kidnapping to rescue the uke. They would have handled everything. Why should the uke pay for it?
But that's how it is in yeon oh's mind that's how the uke thinks that's how his character was written to think considering his past relationship with money and debts in his mind he thinks he owes the seme now because the seme payed the debt collector with his own money
The uke is low key obsessed and subconsciously doesn't want to let go. Paying the Seme back will be a longterm tie to the person he says he wants nothing to do with anymore. The seme said its OK, he doesn't want the money back so the uke should have agreed, blocked the seme's number and continued on with his acting life and career. Perhaps he could meet a nice girl or guy down the line, make friends, bond with his brother and live his best life. That's how you move on from someone. #－.－)
