I'm guessing due to the mc paranoia of getting caught when their together in public the red haired guy got tired if it and eventually lost all feelings.. I don't remeber the chapter but there's a scene where mc tells the red haired nit to do stuff like kissing/holding hand in public which seemed to have hurt red heads feelings
