I've read on a blog some times ago that THE POINT of reading these fictions is also to see boys and men weaker and wimper, more pathetic and pitiful than girls. This is a weird way of considering things, but I think this may be a delutional way for us readers to cope with these stories with such characters...
I agree with you. I also think it has lot to do with korean/japanese/chinese or whatever standards nowadays. Especially beauty standards. I had a discussion with my friend on this topic and conclusion we had was kinda terrifying and disgusting. Nowadays u see a lot of male/female idol groups and everyone is abnormally skinny and tiny and that is considered sexy and cute, and everyone is acting like a cute little kid. And they set the standards for their society, but when you look at it, those are people that are 20+ but they try to maintain the body and mentality of a middle/high schooler and that is considered as I said attractive, cute and sexy. They also avoid getting too ripped so they don’t, god forbid, look bigger, older and mature, or whatever else. Kawaii culture is very disturbing
The relationship between those two is so toxic, I can’t. I wish all the worst for Jaekyung, that arrogant bitch, he could become a saint but still he couldn’t ever make up for all the r*pe and other abuse he made Dan go thru.
Also, Ik this is gonna annoy a lot of people but why does the uke in almost every bl story gotta be some tiny poor boy who cries non stop and is pathetic and pitiful. And don’t get me wrong, I’m totally against those “men don’t cry or real men are ____”, I hate that shit, but it is just so unreal. At the same time I have never ever seen a girl in yuri or classic romance manga/manhwa cry that much.
Is it a requirement for a bottom to be an adult in high schoolers body and mind of a cute immature overly sensitive kid?
