i cant never hate the "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" girlies. i support womens rights and womens wrongs and all that. it all comes down to regina and anita being enemies because of one man. and anita is all alone in the world, the last and only one of her kind. regina is battle worn and wary, she has lived an entire life to the death and cant even catch a break now. theyre just girls

and like before anyone gets in on how anita is unjustified in her revenge bc the object of her wrath is long dead well yes she isnt!! shes obviously bad! shes the story's villain after all. doesnt mean i cant root for her hehe

Yep! I love Anita and her character precisely because she's so flawed. I don't love her in a way that compels me to defend her actions – it's true that she is partially at fault for the mages' extinction, and it's true that her actions in the present are far too drastic for revenge meant for a person who has long been dead. I love her in that I appreciate how well-written she is – how salty and petty and selfish and far gone insane she has become, and how smart and calculating and scary she is that she poses a genuine threat to the protagonist (which is surprisingly rather rare in these stories).

I just really love evil characters, precisely because they're so evil.
