He (the ex-boyfriend) emotionally manipulated the both of them when they were vulnerable. As you implied, they could have used violence or confronted him in any other way, if it wasn’t for the fact that they both were in an emotionally abusive relationship with that guy. They were prisoners of their own minds. Also, abuse has no gender or sexuality, anyone can be abused mentally or physically. i actually don't want to talk about it ,but i have defensed myself before. it's not the same like this story ,it's not about love. so they hit me first then i hit them back ,although i lost because i am weaker ,almost broken my hand,there is scar below my eyebrown but i didn't let anyone abuse me just like that. i defensed myself until the end ,but this kind of people they scare with the police .when i said i will report to the police ,they scared . that's why i gave that kind of comment .
