not sure abt the relatives but I'm assuming the dark magic and basement stuff was from when Haley was high on drugs and was being influenced by his dealer and the ppl around him, and ig during his drunken state of mind he'd perform dark magic so that Noah would love him??

What the novel say is how Harley used black magic (implied just the same as webtoon) to make it so that Noah would fall for him but the only reason why it failed is because Noah only love Mason
To add, technically he got his wish come true but not exactly what he actually wants lol
