It was rancid and gross and the reason she lowkey lightened up on the angry commentary towards the end was because Yeonhui Woo was planning on taking legal action. Not so tough once the author notices, I guess. I also think it’s insanely hypocritical to be touting your own “fix-it” fanfiction as a superior rewrite of the story you have a massive hate boner for. If you were really so disgusted with the story and Wookyung, why would you woobify him even more than the actual story?
I read it, by the way. It’s literally just diet Fifty Shades Freed but with even more cliches. I mean, at least be a good writer if you’re going to try to fight the author of the story you’re riding the coattails of. Her entire condemnation of the story and the author feels performative precisely for this reason. If she was really so disgusted by all the rape apologia in the story, then the last thing on her mind would be writing a story where Minho forgives Wookyung for being a creep and they have tender loving yaoi sex together. Again, I’m not saying this story should be immune to criticism, because I have tons of it. Hasty is at least right to object to the lack of content warnings used in the story. 100% it is an issue and has led a lot of people who aren’t comfortable with it to reading a story filled with extreme sexual violence without knowing so prior.
Came back for more actually. To the people who were saying Yeonhui Woo is “seeking professional help” or “regrets writing SB” or heaven forbid “she admitted to basing Minho off her ex and all the degenerate sexual crimes she wanted to commit against him”. I insist you show evidence. I follow that lady’s twitter with post notifs on so I can see if she’s writing anything even slightly better than Sadistic Beauty. She’s never posted diddly about her personal life or about “regretting” any of her stories in the two years I’ve followed her. I’m quite confident her only crime is being cringe and not knowing how to write BDSM. I get that social media makes it easy to spread false information without fear of repercussions, especially here since this IS an illegal yaoi site, but could we at least not make shit up?

Brooo yess, I checked out the fanfic and it looked like it was written by someone who had just learned what a simile was. Obviously the author of the original content isn’t perfect, but my god, the writing in the fanfic is nauseating to me as an editor.
I’ve commented on this before and I never really had an issue with the translator’s opinions on the story as she’d made them very clear during her stint translating the actual Sadistic Beauty story, but like people have said, switching to writing them in the margins of the comic for the side story is incredibly intrusive to the reader and sets a bad precedent considering she is taking the comic and distributing it for free. I see a lot of cope like “well, why are you complaining when you’re getting the translated version for free?” (I bought the chapters on bomtoon but I want to address this argument). It’s just weird and rude lol. I’m not gunning to sing Yeonhui Woo’s praises or anything, I think her writing in the main story fell off pretty bad towards the end and the “feminist” themes Sadistic Beauty touted go to shit when the story is teeming with rape and not to mention lesbophobia. I don’t know who gave her the idea that writings Gyerin, a lesbian, being coerced into having sex with a man would be “girlboss” or whatever. But I digress. The point is, I keep my criticisms in the comments.
