I really wasn't into her relationship with Eckles (Eclis? wish there was consistency across the translations for names) because it was just... kinda icky? Penelope acts pretty weird when she's with him and his behavior made me cringe LOL. I almost wished Penelope had just left him alone. But pretending to be subservient to try and bind her to him makes Eckles more interesting to me. Waiting for shit to hit the fan.

that was kinda the point. she is completely just using him for her own gain. if she didnt, she honestly wouldnt have survived most likely. the relationship is veryy toxic and i believe thats exactly why the color of eckles’s favorability thing is black. ikr tho i wanna see how their relationship specifically turns out

As much as I love Penelope she’s really only treated him like her escape goat and last resort if things go wrong, but he deserves to be truly happy, even he can tell that she doesn’t truly love him (like when he says he can’t sense any warmth from her smile or eyes or smth) I want him to be happy :(
