Is the FL experienced too? I was gonna read this but as you've said I'm one of those people that don't like pairing unexperienced FL with playboy ML. I like it more when either both MC be unexperienced or both had past lovers before so I'm quite hesistant to read this.

Like sameeee, that's one of my biggest irks when it comes to these types of manhwas. I hate it when the FL is kept absolutely virgin for her to be 'pure' and 'innocent', just so the "experienced" ML can swoop in and be her first, and therefore only.

It's honestly a sexist fantasy, and idk why it's even a trope in these stories.

I mean, I can accept a virgin and non-virgin pairing if that's just what it happens to be,

but what these fantasy pairings usually imply is that the girl NEEDS to be virgin like it's a virtue, so she can be kept 'clean' before she meets ML. Perfectly preserved just for him.

But if the guy has a hundred other relations with girls, he's just 'experienced', as if he gathered exp points from them. They even make it out like it's a cool trait that makes the ML better at intercourse or something. And of course the FL constantly falls weak for his every single touch because ML's just that amazingly 'skilled' now.

It's an outdated fantasy that somehow still exists in a handful of manhwas (more often in mangas).

Luckily though, I'm glad that the more interesting and popular manhwas usually have both virgins or both have had past-relations type pairings. I mean, I guess that's the reason why they're more popular

I will add that in this particular story th ML was in a situation where he was unable to decline the advances from more powerful women from a young age and is actually extremely averse to the idea of consummating their marriage in the beginning. He isn't just some playboy.

I agree that it's certainly terrible for the ML to be coerced into unwanted sexual relations with women in the past which may have been the reason that led him to his current lifestyle.

But I know another manhwa who's ML suffers from extreme migraines and insomnia, so he sleeps with multiple women every night to alleviate his pain.

And in another one, where the ML can literally die from his uncontrollable carnal instincts that could kill him if he doesn't bed a different woman each night.

So when you take a step back and see, those tragic backstories are more or less just an excuse to pursue writing these types of pairings (‘～`;)

They're written like that probably because a majority of the audiences also dislike the imbalance between FL and ML. So writers just give MLs a tragic past as a "reason" as to why they've been with so many other women in order to keep the audience around.

That's definitely fair, and I do agree. I can still read them but it does irk me when the experience between the ML and FL isn't equal. I guess the situation with the male lead here was at least somewhat realistic compared to other ones so it bothered me less. Makes sense that either way it's not worth reading for you though

Yeah, it's honestly too bad, because I am interested in reading the story, but whenever I see ML being openly depicted as a womanizer, while FL is a complete virgin it makes me roll my eyes and distracts me too much from the story lol.

Sometimes I'm okay with it if let's say, yeah the ML is a playboy and the FL is a virgin sex-wise, *but* FL has someone else she's in love with that's NOT the ML.

Like, at least if ML is a playboy in body, his heart should be virgin.

And if FL is virgin in body, then her heart should at least be experienced.

That type of exchange seems fair to me hahha.

Cause it seems he was se*ually assaulted as a kid which he then came to hate women, although I think it did say he would basically sell his body for food, shelter, money. He clearly has a reputation of disliking women so I wouldn’t say he’s a playboy where he has experience of playing around

ML isn’t exactly an experienced playboy and the FL isn’t portrayed as an Innocent pure girl either. She was basically all her “grown up” life at war dressed as a boy so didn’t have time to date ig.. and ML was se**ally assaulted as a kid and despises women, but he was poor w no status so he did come to sell his body if it meant getting food and shelter. They never showed him doing that tho. He is known to dislike women and FL is the first he ever actually wants and makes love to. Just trying to correct some comments saying ML is a playboy cause he’s really not^^ I would also suggest giving it a try cause FL is badass :) it’s a nice read
