He said that shit specifically to make sure Yoshino doesn't fall in love with him and to make sure She wants to break up with him. He made a deal with her grandpa to act as her fiance while protecting her. Yoshino did not know about this deal so Yoshino would try to be a friendly faithful fiance but Kirishima wanted to put distance between them by acting like an asshole at the start so when the time came for the engagement to be broken Yoshino won't get hurt. But then our girl showed her guts like trying to sell her kidney etc and I think he fell for her HARD when he realized how strong Yoshino is. He was always obsessed with her from childhood but I think the line he wanted to draw between them collapsed when she showed him her true resolve.
