It's not that the man has to be dark, It's moreso that women should be pasty white and never get darker. So only men "can" be dark.
Either way its utter BS to the point that they should be ashamed.
I find it very weird that in the 2nd story the male lead gets dark, like really dark. That is very unnatural, they are just pushing the views that the man has to be dark. Also the female lead is white with blonde hair like really. Very weird and unnatural.
