It's further then close, he cheated and whats with "promising to not bother him after a kiss and Inha gave his okay", thats yaoi logic working in this story tbh what a spineless character both that jerk and Inha are trash also I feel like the author added this trope in this wholesome story just for buzz, not happy!!!

Lack of communication, and you mentioned that he overhears the girl ML is tutoring that she is interested in ML, but ML didn't say he is. If Inha just talk it over with ML, then I guess some issues won't go that wrong.

Idk who started the whole cheating thing but from what I understood, that’s not 100% true (￣～￣;)
Inha and the jerk neighbor shared 2 kisses.
The 1st one was non-consensual. Inha was on defensive mode the next day but the jerk acted like he didn’t remember anything so Inha decided to let it slide.
Later on, the jerk neighbor flirts with Inha. Inha asks if this was another one of his pranks and if he does remember what he did that night. The jerk neighbor confesses his feelings for Inha and says he never said he didn’t remember. Inha rejects him and tells him he is already with ML and neighbor is aware of that but the motherfcker was persistent.
The 2nd kiss occurred during a festival. Inha overhears the student ML is tutoring saying that she’s interested in ML. Feeling upset, he gets drunk and crashes in a room. The jerk neighbor finds him, tries to kiss him, and makes a promise to never bother him again if he agrees to kiss just once..m
ML caught them in the act and was ready to throw punches, but Inha stopped him, worried the neighbor might report him for assault. (Btch why not report the neighbor for sexual assault instead?!)
Anyway, this leads to the couple fighting. Inha still talks to the neighbor or like he uses him to get free lunch. Couple eventually makes up, and the neighbor overhears them banging non stop next door.
Sooooo.. Inha’s not exactly innocent here. I agree he should've been more straightforward with ML, reported the neighbor for harassment, and kept his distance. But hey, Inha was portrayed as someone pretty dumb from the get-go ¯_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯
