I get what you are saying that's why we need to disrespect all religions... STOP giving immunity to Islam. THE FUCK if you can disrespect Christianity without being a Christianophobe (^or getting canceled), you can definitely CRITICIZE OR DISRESPECT ISLAM WITHOUT BEING A ISLAMOPHOBe. All religions suck ass and there's no need to respect people's imaginary gods or their feelings. ALL RELIGIONS DESERVE CRITICISM AND DISRESPECT FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE IN THE PAST and currently doing.
Really??? Let me enlight you a little about blasphemy and apostasy laws in Islam.. I'm an ex-Muslim from a Muslim country and we have no fucking religious freedom of speech over here. You can get killed/jailed for even daring to criticize Islam. Let's not even touch the subject of homophobia in Islam. You are punishable by death for being gay.
I'm not gonna respect a system of beliefs that has no tolerance for basic freedom of thought and speech. Muslims living in western shouldn't be telling people how peaceful their religion is when their religion doesn't even believe in basic freedom of speech/thoughts.
There are people dying in Muslim countries due to these barbaric laws and you are like plz respect people's barbaric beliefs and feelings? Fuck off.
(sorry don't mean to be rude)
apologies don't mean much when the words have been said.
don't project your resentment onto other religions. resent and hate Islam all you want, but what excuse does it give you to hate all the rest? has Buddhism done anything to you? a religion of compassion and abandonment of worldly attachments? or Taoism, a religion of returning to oneness with the universe?
you have a valid case against your religion, sure. but you do not, for the rest. so hold your tongue, unless you can say that you've personally experienced every religion for yourself.
defining religion as a whole based on the experience of one single religion. overgeneralization to this extent is...severe. I hope you understand.
Excuse me. "don't project your resentment/experience".... This is just not my single-person experience about Islam. The people who are really suffering or have suffered, their voices can't be heard because they live in these oppressive Islamic countries. Their voices are completely censored and silenced.
Let me clarify, I'm not saying one should not have the right to practice or preach any religion for that matter, but religion, in the end, is a set of beliefs/ideologies held by a group of people. This also means that the public is open to criticizing any negative aspects of any religion without fearing for their lives. This is called basic freedom of speech in civilized countries.
I don't mean to disrespect or give hate for no reason to any religion. Furthermore, I believe some religions are a lot better, in terms of keeping peace and knowing how to agree to disagree like Buddhism and Taoism. Nevertheless, oppressive religious practices of any religion especially Islam should be condemned. People are too scared to call BS on Islam but not other religions, only because they are scared of being called an Islamophobe.
Besides, funny you mention Buddhism, didn't Dalai Lama, one of Buddhism's most prominent advocates, ask a young boy to suck his tongue for him caught on video...
Yeah, why don't people mention them because they will get canceled and publicly annihilated for simply stating barbaric facts about these oppressive religions..
You can't respect any idea that has no place for basic freedom of speech. PERIOD
Most Christians know better than to fight people or kill people in the name of respecting their religion( like they used to long ago). Most Christians now believe in "live and live". But still, Christianity gets sooo much hate (which I do think is somewhat deserved)
Regardless, where is the same energy for religions that are doing much much worse than them (gay people are literally killed/jailed, apostates are getting killed for leaving or speaking out in Muslim countries) and have intense cult-like followers i.e Islam. where Muslims are willing to kill and jail people in the name of honor of their god and prophets.
Nooo let's not talk about that and shunt anyone who speaks about this by saying "Stop projecting your single experience and resentment" you ignorant thing..
Tbh I don't see the pope as the representative of all christianity. There are six branches of Christianity namely: Catholicism, Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, Anglicanism, Oriental Orthodoxy, and Assyrians. Each have their own way teaching, set of rules, etc. The Catholics might have accepted same sex marriages but other churches haven't. So painting pastors (Father's) in such a light is disrespectful.
Oh I see, not the first time a whole religion was misunderstood due to a minority, I was aware of the branches but since he's always at the face of everything I assumed what he says, goes. sorry about the misunderstanding. Guess thats why we see more prevalence of such themes in regards to christian characters. I suppose the muslims are safe since they are represented by their extremists. Either way no religion should be wrongly represented
I don't get people's obsession with painting holy men in such light. I've don't see the same energy with other religions. Heck I've never seen a comic where a Muslim person is shown in such a manner
