Gosh people are so annoying. If you're not ok, just drop it. There're plenty of wholesome manhua without ambiguous relationship out there. Done. Because don't forget that how much you rant here won't do any changes. This is this author's style. This is what happens when a BL artist wants to write a wholesome story. Even if it's not intentional, the art itself has already given off the bl vibes. Remember, you can't change the author but you can always change the manhua you're reading.
And tbh, as much as I love BL, I'd rather them to be just father-son. And I know it looks ambiguous but try to look at another pov. A son sending cute pictures to his parent(s) isn't strange at all. Same with buying your parents Valentine's Day gift. I did all that same as Potato does. There's nothing wrong or non-familial about that.
Of course I didn't drop the theory that the author ships them, I just don't care since it won't be included in the story anyway. You've been reading this for 100+ chapters so you should know that their relationship doesn't progress in that way at all (but the most possibility is Potato crushing on Papa, but you can see that it's clearly one-sided. Them being a couple is impossible, at least in the story we're reading).
And don't forget that the artist is Chinese, the more reason not to include such content (shounen ai is already being risky so incest-like relationship is even more risky).
In conclusion, if you hope it won't turn into BL, you can rest assured because it won't. If you're ok to take away the BL filter (like I do), it's still a good family manhua. But if you hate even a tiny bit of ambiguous stuff in it, I recommend you to drop it or at least skip the grown up Potato parts
