the clue for the code needed to open the lock was "the greatest sin/crime you've ever committed"
the boy tried the combination he thought was related to maria's son's death (like the day of his death) because he thought the greatest crime he committed was bullying maria's son but turns out that wasnt even the answer
in the end, maria said something like "the greatest sin you've ever committed was not driving that boy to his death but it was the fact that you were born."
then we see the boy's identification card wherein it says that his birthday was June 30, 2005 or 06/30/2005
the password needed for the lock was 0630.
