Everything going on has a purpose. All these branches will come together in the end. There are two revenge plots being pursued- Yoohan’s (AKA Lee Baekwon AKA Lee Taemin), against Song Myungshin (AKA Song Yoohan) and Jay’s (AKA Director Yoon Jay AKA Han Jay) against Chairman Kim. These are also related to each other. It’s complicated, but ALL the plot lines matter. They’re not side stories.
This is the reason why many BL-authors decided to create stories that lack characteristics, good development, and plot, because most readers are perverts who only want to enjoy some smexy scenes. It's no surprise to see many popular BL-stories with the main character and male lead engaging in 'deeds' in every single chapter, with no plot whatsoever. I'm glad that we have this story that emphasizes plot a lot. If you feel bored, it might be because it's not to your taste, not because of how the story unfolds. But if you would like to continue reading this, I suggest you be patient with how the story develops because it's going to be great once it's finished! The thing I've learned from plot-driven stories is that when they are still ongoing, they might make you bored or lazy to continue. However, once they are finished, and you decide to re-read them, they are going to be full of a satisfying feeling than those stories that are mostly having sex with minimum plot going around.
Pls calm down. Not everyone reading the manga version is here because of the novel or even knew of it. We're just stating the lengthy-ness of the story should be for the novel. Whilst the manga should be more slimmed and to the point. I'm sure if you ever read or watched a movie/manga that some potions are needed from the novel/book whilst mangas/movies don't because there is visual representation. Because if not one chapter of the novel is like 6 chapters in a manga because you are tryna draw out/depicting every single word within the novel. And we're not tryna take away from the story/plot because we knew it's great, it's why we choose to read it. But there are moments where some chapters could have been one because they are following the same occurrence/part that is happening in the story.
As was stated, everything in this manhwa so far (other than a couple of weird sex scenes that did not take place in the novel) is necessary for the plot— and there MANY delightful twists and turns. Both Jay and Yoohan are cleverly crafting their revenges, and by its end it will all come together. The manhwa was made because the novel was so successful. I personally can’t see where it could be “slimmed down” without hurting the story.
That said, the “pervert attacks” here are ridiculous. It should be expected readers coming into this without knowledge of the novel would find this agonizingly slow. Impatience over waiting for chapters is what drove me to find the novel, and then I feasted ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
For it to not be boring. That’s it. That’s all I ask of anything I do for fun. I don’t care if they don’t get together in the end, or if they bang every chapter. I just want to have fun reading it.
The only interesting things about this story are the MC and director relationship and the revenge plot, both of which are constantly being thrown aside for dumb side stories and exposition. It’s frustrating and disappointing because of how much potential this story had starting out.
Why are there so many characters and plots happening? I thought the good thing about source material was that you can pick and choose what to put in your story, so why is the artist just jam packing every single little detail in here? This series had such potential, it’s really disappointing.
