i get allll ur points but honestly i feel like the mom thing was really realistic. the mom changing after 27 years is realistic cause shes probably thought about how to apologize for years but sometimes people choose to act the same instead because its the only way shes ever interacted with her daughter, and the second chance thing was also realistic. in the end, we all crave affection from our parents and she chose to forgive her mom because at the end of the day yk "better late than never". plus haewon always craved love from her mom so it makes sense. it might seem dumb that she didnt "repent" sooner but we all make mistakes and obviously that doesnt forgive neglectance but she chose to change and thats already a huge step in their relationship. idk if you've ever been in the same situation as her, cus i feel like you'd understand her better if u have.
It was a bit slow without much excitement going on. Also I don't believe in second chances like the one FL gave to her mother. The only time the mom chose to repent was until *she* was in a better place? Until *her* happy days came? Not when it was her daughter's wedding or anything. Emotional neglect for 27 years, even when she had the chance to repent or apologize at any time after her daughter was independent, she never acted on it. Why? Cuz she didn't feel like it yet? Cuz repentance depends on whether you feel like it? Not when your child needed it?
Nah bruh, I'm not saying redemption wasn't possible, but to me, with the way the story went, it was 'too little, too late'. She didn't do much, and she had horrible timing when she could've done it even just a few months earlier, at least on her daughter's wedding day.
Romance-wise, the ML is ultra-perfect, handsome, and kind. But for some reason I can't feel satisfied with the romance in this manhwa. Like, I can't find closure. They opened up with the whole 'one-sided love' concept-- but of course I didn't necessarily want it to be a stereotypical story and drag that part out, I know it was just a plot device to start the story-- but still, it felt swept under the rug too soon, and my heart still felt hurt for FL whenever I saw her two best friends be a couple.
Like, yes, I'm glad FL is over the best friend dude. As she should, when she has a perfectly good new hubby by her side. But again, as a viewer and reader, I don't feel the satisfaction from that aspect of the story.
Next time, pls don't introduce slightly angsty-romance concepts like that if they're not going to be addressed that much. It left me mulling over it everytime I saw the red-haired best friend and the dude best friend be together. I guess maybe that's why the story chose to avoid them for most of the later chapters. I guess other viewers didn't enjoy it much either.
For the last story about the Niece (Se-hyun) and her boyfriend (Tae-woo) it also felt a bit lacking, and again unsatisfying. Like, bro I thought you knew how to read Se-hyun well, you even figured out who was making her miserable at school. Why were you letting that she-snake rub her scales all over you? You have enough experience from being popular to have noticed she was clearly hitting on you, why'd you let this one slide and not fend her off? Why did you let her so near you to the point that snake felt more secured next to you than your actual girlfriend did? So much inconsistent plot holes. And once again, not a really satisfying conclusion. The answer was just to f*ck and everything was fixed for that story. The end.
