I was thinking the same, it feels more that “what is this interesting human, why does he wanna die after i give him what he wants?”type interest instead of romance. Like prob because ML himself would never want to unalive himself idk
It's been very clear since the start that ML is kinda messed up and while his actions are often misleading, MC also knows to some extent what ML is like. Anyway I'm like 80%sure ML is already falling but is failing to recognize it because of his messed up thought process

I feel like he has no romantic feeling towards MC. Like he is using him, even to this point. Only possessiveness and obsession (if we squeeze enough) idk he is just so sus. I understand MLs using MC plot but most of them at this point, already fell for MC. But this black hair dude tho.......
