I'm still halfway, also binge reading in a day AHAHAHA, but like I was so scared to look at the ending cause I was getting excited at ch. 55 as they are already lovey dovey, but I can answer that it was not whitewashing or being racist I think the artist or author simply followed the tradition of angels being portrayed or misguidedly portrayed to have white skin as they symbolize many things but mostly pureness as for the northlanders I think it was just how the bird was designed, they were being portrayed as lowly because the bird did many horrible things (as far as I have read) which made them to be despised so much, being criticized for every little thing when they are more capable than the sky people, in terms of wisdom as well (like dude those sky people are weird, crazy, and just total nutjobs, that I think they don't even deserve to ascend anymore). Inanna's prohecy was centered about favoring mc, mc was bestowed the strength of a warrior coming from inanna's blessing, and to be blessed with great fortune when it comes to love, HOWEVER, should she refuse such blessing, her fortune will dwindle, hence gizzida mentioned that she was unfortunate to be born a slave, if she would've been a priestess in the temple of inanna she would've been protected and loved in the right way, but she was a slave and attracting men in those areas isn't exactly ideal... for now that's what I understand, I'll continue to read and I'll get back on this AHAHA
Just finisheddd, so as the legend of the northlanders go, it was actually kata's own story of not being able to recognize his own kids as he already became hideous for losing his beauty to the goddess so kun didn't become the next galtir but he was originally the one supposed to inherit kata's power, that's also one reason why gizzida can't use nigak against the northlanders in the north, it's because kata's power is protecting them.
About her going back from the dead, I think it was compensated when kun decided to give up his life for her, hence the pool of blood, may not be his eternal life, but may be a part of his life, since he is now immortal, the person raeniae met at the entrance may very well be the goddess her and neti was talking about, and may be she took a liking to reniae is another way
He didn't keep the blonde hair and wings, as that was what he was supposed to look like, so he just reverted back.
I don't know how to feel about this reading. It went through serious matters pretty well like sexism and r*pe, but at the same time the author seems to be kinda racist. I don't like how both main characters got literally whitewashed by the end, and how brown skin was always referred as hideous or lowly. And also, there are many things in the end that I didn't quite get: what was Innana's profecy even about? I feel that it was too ambiguous and every time Reniae remembered it something about it was changed. If Reniae wasn't ever completely dead, why did Kun ascend as if she was? I tought sky people could only ascend if the last person with the eagle blood was officially dead. Why did Reniae become the new Galtir if the branch she used to stab Gizzida didn't actually kill him, but it was Kun with his axe? In the short time Reniae was in the afterlife, she was told that if she wanted to go back another life should perish, but she just did a little reflection and went back to life just like that. Who was the one to die in her place? And lastly, did Kun give up eternal life in the end? If so, why did he keep his blonde hair and wings? If he didn't, then is he going to outlive Reniae just like that? If someone could answer these questions for me I would be so grateful ╥﹏╥
