Yes, I agree with you. Her father treated her bad her whole life and her biological father didn’t give two shits about her, but the mother has had an actual difficult life. Not that this is good reasoning for her behavior towards Phil…but yeah. Why is it difficult for her to interact with her mother but easy with her two shithead fathers.

Atleast her mother loved her. She didn't show any hate or anything unlike her biological father also that emperor. Those fathers didn't give importance to her unless she stood up for herself unlike her mom she just showed her face and she cried. Guilty about her mistakes.
She messed up peoples lives for her inferiority complex. Everyone has trauma its not an excuse to make bad decisions. The reason why she had so much guilt was because she KNOWS she did such stupid things. Just being a good friend would not have led to this. The tower master already stated he only had children for the sake of magic. He also has anti social personality. And she knew that. She doesn't even call him father. The emperor has been raising her and she is realising that she has formed an attachment as he was treating her better. Her mother INTENTIONALLY gave her away and was raising elincia well despite being in a commer background. When male relatives get praised by the story but no one gives a fuck about mom. Like, poor woman was cornered and neglected all her live and never experienced love, and after all that she still cares about her biological child a little bit despite never seeing her once but all she gets is a cold shoulder from MC. What she did was bad but what deadbeat emperor did was even worse.
