I totally agree It's actually so sad, I feel like around 80% of yaoi have a rape scene. Personally I hate it, but it's just around because the majority like it.
but little piece of advice don't read champagne and roses. that one is really bad at the end when it comes to that, it was so sad because I really enjoyed it up until then.
It's not like they wanna make a BL with full of rape but bc The majority likes it and they need to make an income so they just delivered what the majority likes and the reason why majority likes to read it is because of;
- The redemption arc
- The contrast between the beginning (trash seme) to the ending (sweet caring seme) is really the best
- the way seme regret being a trash to the uke is like one of the best part
personally I always feel like they can get the same result without the seme's shittyness coming from rape. It also happens randomly with our couple already being together just for drama. but I think the most messed up part is that not only do they not properly address how messed up it is, some readers are getting sexual gratification, if they weren't I have a hard time believing they would show it in so much detail. the whole thing just sits very wrong with me.
my first time ever reading yaoi was a fucked up story of the uke getting raped, i tried something different uke still got raped every single yaoi i read on here was the uke getting raped, literally if i find a entertaining bl the uke ends up getting raped, the art could be amazing and the uke gets fuckin raped like wtf??
but my question is why does the authors fantasize rape so much??? like the amount of rape these people add i honestly think they arent okay.
