I totally agree. The progression of the story honestly feels way too fast. The ML goes from accusing Edith at every turn from Chapters 5 through 18 and then fucks her in Chapter 20 despite us being told that he was "saving himself" for the OGFL. And then, after sleeping with her, continues to send mixed signals by being nice to her/ on her side one mintue and then denouncing her and suspecting her the next.
It's weird and frankly, kinda stupid. The only reason I'm excusing it (not rely but still) is because we know that he's being influenced by the "God" of this world to follow the plot of the original novel, but the fact that the main character is eating it up even more is what baffles me. Like this man hated you. You said you weren't going to gun for him BECAUSE of that but she still fell for him despite that making absolutely no sense.
the female lead's character development has been disappointing. Going from a strong and independent woman to a frail and dependent one is a drastic change, and it's hard to understand what motivated such a change in her personality. It makes me wonder, why did the author make this decision? Also her relationship with ML is strange af
