i've been through what you are going through. i know that it seems painful now.
i did my degree far away from home, and my relationship with my parents at that time was not okay. i didn't have semester breaks as the syllabus in my degree was different than others, and during the time that i got a few days off from class, i didn't feel like going home. i lost my passion in the degree i was taking at that time. however, i was on sponsorship, and if i drop the course, i have to pay the total amount of my course ~w~
just take a step back from everything, take a deep breath. go for a short travel, no need to be too far away, just enough that you see different kind of people than you used to. go for a hike, or explore a cave or jungle.
as for your course, i think it's better to find a role model related to your course, preferably someone close to you that you can talk to. one of your lecturers for example. otherwise, if you are still early in your course, switch to other course. or if you are like me, just bear with it until you graduate.
i hope your situation will get better soon, like mine did.
I would definitely recommend you to reconcile with your mom first. You definitely need support from your family, and i'm afraid that you might go to the suicidal path if this goes on and i don't want that, i'm just reminding you not to go there and i believe you won't. Ask your friends for help is also recommendable and you might want to find the image of how you want your future to be like. For an example, what would make your future feel bright and full of happiness. Maybe you might want to go to concerts or how you might want to help people with your job opportunities, or maybe charities. Try to look back on how you decided you chose architecture for your uni. I hope this helps, good luck and stay well!
That was all really good advise esp. the parts abt. taking a break, get out going for walks. You could fine that building that could jump start your love for the course again. You can feel really drained after and during intense course work and being far from home does not help. taking small breaks could help recharge your mind and spirits.Treat yourself, if you can even if it's just a take out coffee and cake make it special. Find a free event to go to. Write it out. some times putting your feelings on paper and looking at them can make them clearer. if you have lost the love for the course you will know after the project is done.(It could be the project /or the course?).there are some courses that can make you hate your passion when you hate the course.I don't know abt. the relationship between you and your mom may be talk to some one who knows the situation. you may need to be heard by some one who knows you. Good luck to you.Been there too.
Heyy hello , this is not a question or recomendation , just want to share my problems here and if there any advice or just any comment then feel free to do so~
Okay so im currently takin my degree in architecture and damn its pretty awesome but also depressing . Its depressing cuz it feels like we hav no life ,, and the uni is very far from my real home , rn im staying at hostel . The thing is , we had our break for 1 week last week , but i didnt enjoy the break bcuz was so busy doing the project . By enjoyin the break is meant by spending time with family ,, ive looking forward to go home like since for ever but cant enjoy it cuz of the project .. Then , when i submitted my project ,, the lecturers didnt batted an eye to my project and ofcourse i felt so depressed , and before that i also had a big fight with my mom , and rn i felt so empty , its like i want to escape , but i dont to be home , i dnt feel like even if i go back home , it doesnt feel like home . Also ,, my mom is currently sick rn . And i just rly hate myself but im not looking forward to go home . And also i actually kinda ve lost my passion in the course .
