I mean, I don't think it's weird because he didn't like him like that when Matthew was small. He also didn't know it was him until recently BUT I do get your point. I have seen a lot of the authors using that and honestly I've seen some weird shit. (⊙…⊙ )
Yes like this is a case where he didn’t know him until after they hu but I do see mangas where that’s not the case but this situation was just close enough to trigger me lmao. like honestly this author is nowhere near as problematic as some authors can be like it won’t be something I drop the manga over it’s just something I wish I would stop being a trend in manga like it’s oversaturated regardless if one finds it weird or not
Bro I just really am in general starting to be so over like weird childhood friend (idk a better term for it) age gaps. I really don’t like that they knew each other and he was like a child and him an older kid like I think it feels creepy like if I were him I would’ve lost feelings and seen him in a more platonic I-care-about-you-as-a-fellow human way. I get it can add to the story’s plot but I feel like authors don’t always have to use childhood friends to show an intense bond between two characters!!!! I see it so often
