if you've never read the manhwa, it means you've never even seen the translator notes...
which means you don't know about either the manhwa or the tl notes.
so u literally don't even know what anyone's been talking about this whole time, you've just been using ur vague imagination of what it is and got mad about it...
i wonder how you ended up in this comment section. probably, you read the title that clearly said sadistic and saw the ominous thumbnail cover, yet you still clicked it despite 'already knowing the general premise'
scrolled all the way down to the comments section... and just started replying to any comment you saw. not really knowing anything about it.
i truly wonder how people like you find this fun.
So far, you have told me:
"Let me suck ur dick as an apology then."
That's sexual harassment.
And you've called me:
"little bitch!"
That's verbal abuse.
You do realize that you've actually inflicted more real life abuse than the manhwa ever did...
If you think that sexually harassing people online is shallow and not deep, then it's really ironic that you're calling me the rape apologist. When I have to be the one who has to point out to you that sexual harassment and abuse isn't a light matter. You really shouldn't go around harassing people like that.
okay.... so you committing sexual harassment really isn't a big deal to you... wow.
you'd rather I focus on you calling the manhwa shallow... than talk about your harassment...
if you really want to 'stay on topic' and try to brush off your sexual harassment towards me as not a big deal like other harassers typically do--
then if you *actually* read my og comment, you'd know that I say it's okay to call it shallow. It's okay to dislike the work and even hate the story.
But my topic wasn't about whether it was a good or bad story, it's about the translator being disrespectful by leaving those TLs in the middle of the work instead of below it. And how commenters like you who harass people over the manhwa have done much worse than anything that's happened in the story because this time real life people are actually affected.
..and honestly, you've proved it. You've proved that reading this manhwa doesn't encourage readers to support the dark elements of the story.
Because you've never read the manhwa, and yet you've still sexually harassed me.
The fiction that's happened in the story stayed in the story, you on the other hand, acted it in real life, being worse than the fiction.
Aight well I've had my say. Their last comment has nothing to do with the topic anymore... well neither did the rest of their replies tbh, they were mostly just harassments and insults.
In summary of this thread, the person who kept replying had neither read the manhwa, nor the TL notes they're defending, nor my og comment they're fighting.
So, I'll just close this thread, at least it'll show people that there are just others here without a real purpose other than to troll and harass people.
And that there's nothing inherently wrong with the manhwa but rather with how some people will choose to interpret it.
This thread exemplifies that reading the work doesn't automatically define you as immoral in character;
and not reading it doesn't equate to you being a good and upright person who wouldn't dare let their eyes fall upon on a fictional bl manhwa that only bad people would read.
That there are those who can claim to be against all the dark elements of this manhwa, but in the end, turn out to be the culprits who actualize them in real life.
Maybe they happen to be one of those certain people who have a weak mental resistance to the influence of fiction. They might not even be aware about the possibility of having your own sense of discernment and moral values without them being shaken by a fictional erotic manhwa.
So read what you like as long as you have the basic human intelligence to separate fiction from reality, and the capability to be aware of how your own words and actions affect real life people.
Because it seems like some people care more about how a fictional character was treated in the story rather than how they treat a real life person.
Translator was disrespectful and kept promoting their fanfic. So selfish. The TL is like the Velma creator who really hates Scooby Doo but still made a whole show about it.
My guess is this translator had the same ulterior motive as the Velma creator, which is to leech off of a popular work/title to get views for themselves.
You can say you don't like the work once or twice. But staying around and scattering your TL notes all over the whole manhwa just to hate on it, is just pathetic. (I hope I never see this TL again).
To anyone else who hated this, it's okay to hate the work if that's how you feel, but cursing the author, by praying and hoping for their financial downfall, is so trashy. It's not like they're promoting racism, sexism, or actual sexual harassment in their work.
If you think it does promote the sexual harassment, let me ask, how?? Do you think Killing Stalking is promoting the dark elements it had in it's story? No, of course not. Why? Because it's just part of the story, this author isn't telling people to go out there and become a rich handsome kidnapper who blackmails someone into living and having sex with them.
Again, everyone is allowed to hate the work as much as they want to, BUT being a TL and ruining the work with your negativity is shitty, go put your notes at the bottom of the page not in the middle of the work, or just don't work on stuff you hate it if you can't help parading your hate around.
Second, unless the author has a real life scandal or crime, or their work has real life implications of promoting any immoral and unethical motives, then there's no good or justifiable reason why you'd go so far as to wish and pray for something horrible to happen to them.
You'd be a hypocrite for exclaiming how much you hate the characters for being immoral, yet here you are wishing evil prayers on real life people. (I've literally seen a commenter say they hope the author dies... wtf).
