Usually I’m pretty tolerant to the BL romance tropes because the authors always manage to “convince” me if I squint I can see the “love”. There has only been one story where I absolutely hate the “love” story because no matter how hard the author tried to justify it and make us believe it, every time we went into the character’s head all he could think off was how awful everything felt so how am I supposed to believe there was any type of love in that “romance”? Also, no matter how awful one party is, if it’s supposed to be a “love story”, usually whatever the other party did was never with the conscious intention to hurt, and if it was, then the story wasn’t really supposed to be a love story with a happy ending. In this case im talking about, it’s been explicitly stated by various characters that the abuse is being doled out to humiliate and the saddest part is the abused party is not a doormat character, so I am so angry that he got stuck with that “love” interest in the end (especially when he had already gotten away from it all as well).

Ooof the thing I hate the most is CENSORSHIP. I was raised in a strict Roman Catholic family. It made me ashamed of who I am and my hobbies. When I accidentally read a (physical) erotic BG scifi novel as a teen, my dad found it and ripped it up in front of my face without saying a word. I would like to covertly buy some raunchy humor magazines at the grocery store (M.A.D., it was made into a TV series) or Rolling Stone (the super famous music magazine here in the States) and my mom confiscated it. Maybe she burned it, idk. When I wanted to watch some inappropriate humor shit on TV like Mystery Science Theater 3000 or Monty Python's Flying Circus, I had to hide in the basement in case my parents would catch me watching it. That was the time before smartphones so it couldn't be hid as easily as kids do today. If I wanted to listen to some inappropriate music like rap with bad language then I could only listen with my headphones by myself. ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ Life as a closeted and rebellious teen was super fucking uncomfortable in that kind of restrictive environment. Later I became a librarian so that I could make sure that good books wouldn't be banned in my library! Although America touts the words like freedom all the time, banning books and censorship is also still alive and well here.
What I think is the absolute worst for human society is the extreme regulation by the government in order to control people's thinking. It's like that book called 1984 by George Orwell. Controlling the thoughts of the masses is fucking disgusting. It's important for the government to protect their people, but controlling their thoughts and values in an extreme way in order to prevent them from having liberal or open-minded views is so gross it makes me want to vomit. Because my parents have always tried their best to censor me as a kid and even controlled who I dated in order to avoid the stain or sin of atheism. I also think that artists and authors in countries like China will never be able to make the most beautiful works of art if they are confined by censorship. Because the best works of art usually make people stop and think critically about what is wrong with society!

I can definitely agree here, that much censorship is insane. I had a similar situation with my dad when i was young where he threw away a slenderman book i had because 'it was demonic'. I understand censorship when it comes to extremely inappropriate or harmful material but a creepypasta isnt going to kill anybody.

Erm, why do I think that people who prefer dubcon and rape manga are people who have never experience sexual harassment or sexual assault? Not gonna lie, I've experienced it and had several friends who were rape victims. Glorifying rape and dubcon is gross to me because when someone gaslights/manipulates you into having sex, or when they are sexually harassing you, it's not a fun moment - it makes you want to vomit, and later you feel like some worthless trash and may even try to harm yourself.

It's fun for some people who are like virgins or want to live vicariously in a fictional character's sex life to read about the most exciting kind of smut that involves force...but if you actually encounter it in your real life, I think your reading choices will change later.

The reason shota/loli is gross to most people who hate and villify it is because children aren't able to consent, so the relationship is by its very nature manipulative from the beginning. And if you're molested or groomed as a child, your psychology will be harmed for the rest of your life. People who are molested as kids tend to be molesters. I also think that the people who are most opposed to shota/loli either knew or are related to someone who was molested. It's really sad to admit, but my nephew experienced some trauma with another kid (who was molested) and my cousin had some horrifying experiences as a 9 year old with her abusive dad.
